The funny thing about free speech is that naming who is part of a hate group can likely be argued as free speech moreso than "whaaah, we got fired for the awful shit we said", given that it's called freedom of speech and not freedom from the consequences of my speech. Doubly so when you're talking about consequences brought about by a private organization/not the government. After all, their place of employment has freedom of speech rights too, as well as the ability to choose who they associate with.
The suit claims Capito joined Patriot Front using a false identity and accessed the group's computer databases to access private information, which he then shared with friendly activists and hackers.
"This confidential information was then widely published and used to harass and threaten the Plaintiffs, with the aim, and result, of doxxing them and other Patriot Front members and causing them serious harm," the lawsuit says.
They do this sort of thing all the time to the trans community.
Right-wing mentality says that it's alright when they do something, but if you do it back to them, that's cheating and shouldn't be allowed. You know, spoiled 5-year-old shit.

Communists are usually pretty good employees since they spend a lot of time reading about how capitalism actually works. If I were a CEO, I’d rather one communist giving me advice than 20 incurious bozos who think “capitalism” equals commerce and Adam Smith liked landlording.
When you take a job, you have a good idea of what behavior can get you fired. You can get fired most places just because. I think it’s good to make it clear joining a Nazi club is one of those behaviors that’s going to get you fired. All this pussyfooting is encouraging them from these nobodies so the way up to the last president.

Point of fact: it’s generally illegal to fire someone for attempting to organize a union. That’s why companies that are getting rid of union organizers and sympathizers almost always have some other pretext. Even doing things like cutting your hours, or putting you on unpleasant shifts, can be “constructive dismissal”.
While I understand what you’re saying I think that there’s something different about Nazis and people that actively want to commit genocide; their very existence is so antithetical to a liberal democracy that acting in ways that would normally be outside of the bounds of decent behaviour is justifiable.
I agree it’s wrong to fire people for organizing a union, but that line doesn’t exist to begin with. Companies can and will continue to do that. I don’t agree with it, but that’s the way it currently is. I’m not sure if it’s been established you’re not allowed to be a Nazi outside of your typical “behavior not becoming of an XYZcorp employee” that they can use to legally fire you for anything they’re want I’m just saying we should make it clear that this specific behavior, joining Nazi clubs, is clearly a valid offense.
Again, 100 percent in agreement with you, but it’s not such a slippery slope issue when employees were never anywhere near the top of that slope to begin with, so we may as well hammer it home when we’ve identified a specific legal but unacceptable behavior.
Yeah, I don’t mind the naming of names, but it sounds like they used their connection to access more personal info which was obtained and distributed specifically for the purpose of targeting them with attacks.
Which of course they deserve. I’m not gonna argue that white supremacists don’t deserve every bit of negativity they receive…but like you said, it’s about the precedent.
If the shoe was on the other foot and some far right activist had done this to a group of progressives, LGBT+ people, etc. the outrage would be justified.
The entire mindset of “well it’s okay because I don’t like the people it affected” is problematic and fundamentally cheapens the position of anyone who adopts such a stance.

Uhhh ... if the revealing of members caused those members to lose their jobs, it's because their employers determined that they don't want to employ Patriot Front members. Last I checked, without a specific contract, employment is at will.
I hope this sets a good precedent legally. You are free to express yourselves, which is why you’re not arrested for prancing around the streets in white bodysuits. What you are not free of is the consequences of your actions.
