IamRoot,

This could be good. If the Republicans are forced to vote on this then it will demonstrate that they are all full of bs and are just letting Tuberville take the heat for what they all support.

lolcatnip,

What difference do you expect that to make?

June,

It puts the GOP squarely in the position of not supporting the military rather than just one radical holdout.

lolcatnip,

Yeah but how many votes would that charge? Republican voters will excuse anything their politicians do. They only care about identity, not policy.

June,

It’s less about changing votes and more about exposing them for what they are and forcing some measure of intellectual honesty. It’s not something that fixes anything near term but sets up how the party is perceived in the future. The more they are exposed for not standing for what they claim to stand for, the better.

I still can't believe a former mid college football coach is holding back these promotions to wait on orange Hitler to fill them with his fascist yes men.

cmbabul,

I still am upset and disappointed that the state of Alabama elected a former college football coach that wasn’t Nick Saban.

Ensign_Crab,

The Rules Committee on Tuesday advanced a resolution that would allow military nominations to be confirmed en masse

Oh good. I was worried their solution would be the usual one: outright capitulation, calling it a compromise, and ordering their voters to be happy with it.

bus_go_fast,

Anyone who supports Tuberville, hates America.

PeleSpirit,

The Rules Committee on Tuesday advanced a resolution that would allow military nominations to be confirmed en masse — an effort that would spoil Tuberville’s hold on military promotions, which he’s vowed to continue until the Pentagon reverses an abortion policy.

“Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise.
But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them.”
