Well, shit. Apparently there's now a bot on Twitter that can tell the location based on a single photo with a precison of 20 miles.

In other words, deleting data is no longer enough. 😯

@Wuzzy there have been image recognition systems that can recognise landmarks for a few years. I wouldn't be surprised that they are now reaching a bit further than tourist traps. However, it would take a mindbogglingly massive amount of data to work reliably anywhere in a large land area like Europe or the US. On the other hand, Metafacegramwhat gets a steady input of pictures from around the world... So... Possible?
