Jumbling up that bit of rote code was the joke! But the semicolon isn’t supposed to end the line; it tells BASIC to suppress the newline after the print statement. Makes for a better endlessly scrolling text experience ;)
I had no idea Cyberpunk was inspired by this book. I once listened to it on audiobook when I was on a big binge of Cyberpunk stories a few years back. I'll be honest I don't remember a super amount of it, it sorta merges with the others I listened to then a little bit, but I do remember enjoying it at least. I did like the idea of the orbitals (well I don't if that was reality but you get what I mean..), powerful corporations that live in space rather than bother with Earth, which does feel like a path we could go down.. The "rock war" too intrigued me because I remember I had only just read about tungsten rods possibly being used in space in that way a little while before listening to the book.
I never ended up getting the sequels though, I don't remember even seeing them until now, I think the book ended pretty well from what I remember.
Webos was so far ahead of it's time. It took years of android porting many of it's features over. Now it just lives on TV's.
It's hard to comprehend how far ahead the palm pre and webos was. Sprint wasn't even selling android phones yet. But webos had cards, advanced account integrations, full browser and a beautiful interface
My favorite music was the end-credits music of SuperMarioLand. I would play through the whole game just to hear it, and then keep it going on infinite loop until it ran out of battery.
Das Sortiment sollte schon einigermaßen ok sein. Also nicht so frisch, dass es noch grün ist - damit kann ich leben. Aber wenigstens nicht verschimmelt. Der Pfandautomat kann dreckig sein, sollte aber abends mal kurz abgewischt werden. Dass Mitarbeiter eine gewisse Freiheit haben, auch ok. Aber hey, es sollte auch genug Personal da sein, niemand sollte gestresst sein. Wenn sich die schon alle gegenseitig anbrüllen, scheint da was nicht zu stimmen. Also stellt mehr Leute ein. Lieber mehr als zu wenig.
Zum Design und das ist das größte Manko: Fick diese modernen Filialen. Ich will Fliesenboden haben und kein Laminat. Ich will schlichte Regale haben mit günstigen Produkten, keine Pappaufsteller überall, die mir anpreisen, dass ich dieses oder dieses Produkt kaufen soll. Stellt mir die nötigsten Produkte in die einfachsten Regale und ich bin glücklich. Hauptsache ich finde alles. Ich will das alte Aldi-Design zurück mit der schlechten Beleuchtung und dem Zucker, der auf dem Boden liegt, weil alles nur in Paletten angeliefert wird. Und verdammt nochmal, ich will den guten Tetrapak-Eistee zurück!
