The big reason I could never use Linux as my main OS is that I’d spend all my time switching distros and tweaking things. macOS gives me about the max number of options I can have and get anything done.

If I couldn’t use macOS for some reason, I’d probably end up trying to make FreeBSD work for me due to how much I like being idiosyncratic 😄

aesthetikx,

@collin FreeBSD is a great daily driver. My only blocker is that for some reason the puppeteer devs purposely prevent it from instaling via npm because there are no prebuild binaries for , even though it would just work if you have chromedriver installed. Other than that random issue, its pretty equivalent to linux. Also, like osx, no docker.

@collin You could give try to . Its general idea is to mix macOS principles with FreeBSD under the hood. 😉

@collin AFAIR, MacOS X is a fork of FreeBSD, so you that tracks. 😁

@kronn I think it’s a little more nuanced than being a fork, but they definitely share a lot of DNA :)

This may also apply to Emacs and Vim. I manage to waste tons of time tweaking the tools I have already, and none of them give me near the level of customization those editors would.
