Anyone knowledgeable about mushrooms have any information on what this species is? We found it on our neighbor's boulevard grass. We live in a residential urban area in Minnesota.

@zalasur perhaps Krause Glucke / Fette Henne (Sparassis crispa)

@skellig Krause Glucke appears to be too spongy, and Fette Henne also has too frilly a texture. I think the person who guessed "Chicken of the Woods" was right on the money.

@zalasur Looks kinda like chicken of the woods, but please do not take any "identification" at face value if it is only based on a picture. Smell, texture, taste, changes when cut/squeezed can be important factors to distinguish similar ones.

@szakib Don't worry, I don't plan on eating it, or even touching it for that matter.

@zalasur Touching mushrooms is always safe if you wash your hands afterwards. Smelling is also always safe. No mushroom will poison you in these two ways.

@szakib True, but knowing my luck I'll get an annoying rash or something. It's not something I'm willing to risk just satisfy a bit of curiosity. 😉
