This is a reminder that I want to replay #HorizonZeroDawn so that I can spend more time with its soundtrack. The in-game audio implementation in Forbidden West on PS5 is leagues ahead of its predecessor (thanks to new PS5 features), and it has gyro aiming, so it’s tough to go back.
The composers really outdid themselves with the #HorizonForbiddenWest soundtrack and its implementation though. They’ve spoken about how they want the music and supporting systems to convey how the protagonist Aloy is feeling, so while there is a sense of place, there is really this emotional center that feels unique. https://youtu.be/oK1mA4RPin0
(Lmao, I also want to replay #HorizonForbiddenWest itself at some point. The soundtrack release is great, but the in-game implementation is transcendent, if occasionally and necessarily crowded due to sound effects.)
Oh, I also want to play the whole game on Ultra Hard difficulty. I switched to Ultra Hard in the post-game and played #HorizonForbiddenWest: Burning Shores entirely on that difficulty, and even then I’m like, “more please!!!” 😂
