@KaraLG84 should I offer help to a blind person, if yes, what is a good, respectful, way to offer?
I use public transport a lot and often see people that might need help. Sometimes I walk near a person and ask if they need a hand, but I often find it awkward because I don't actually know if they even need help and if that is condescending.
@claudius If they need help they'll ask for it. Imagine if you were walking along minding your own business and it felt like everyone you walked past assumed that you're lost, need their help and such like. I've had people even tell me I'm going the wrong way like they can read my mind. Sorry if that comes off as harsh but I've had nearly 40 years of it.
@claudius I've often wondered what it must be about my appearance that makes me look lost, and how I could portray a just leave me alone vibe. See also some wheelchair users sticking spikes on their chair's handles to hopefully stop folk from randomly pushing them. At least you were wondering how to ask someone, which is something. 🙂
