Plano/Frisco for my teen years, Denton for grad school.

Allow me to assure you, everything is, which is why I found DFW (and Texas suburbia in general) so depressing after a childhood in vibrant Nuevo México.

@jezebelkat @slims yeah I was in Arlington so at least the driving distances would be a little shorter than going anywhere in Plano.

But yeah, a big part of living in Japan is distancing myself, by several thousand miles, from TX McMansions

ME TOO.

My mother lives there still, apartment just down the road a bit. And when we sold the house, the realtor actually asked "wouldn't you want this house, your childhood home, are you sure you want to sell it?"

And I nearly laughed in her face and just said I was 14 when we moved in.

My childhood home is a Pueblo Revival in Las Cruces.
