I'm shoulder bag. I used to be pockets, and at some point I realized that carrying a kg of junk in my pockets was uncomfortable and unnecessary.
I realise for accuracy most people could check off multiple options, but I thought that would be boring, since almost all of us have used almost all of these at some time or other. I wanted to make people choose a primary one, however they judged most reasonable.
Thanks to all who answered! Also, rock on, fanny pack elite.
Then books and newspapers and shades in the backpack itself. Or maybe jacket on a warm day with the possibility that the return home will be late at night.
Most of the time: backpack.
If I am walking to work: messenger bag.
If it's just a walk and i won't be out long: fanny pack type thing.
Also always: pockets (unless I am wearing stupid clothes geared towards women in which case probably not pockets)
@evan
I used to only carry what I could fit in my pockets or hang on my belt loop because I was always forgetting my purse somewhere. Then cellphones entered the picture and long story short that method doesn’t work anymore, so I’m back to purses only now I’ll put my foot through the strap when I sit down and so forth and so far I haven’t lost my purse yet.🤞
@evan Not just a backpack, but pouches in the backpack too - tech pouch, general purpose pouch. It’s been suggested that I spend way too much deciding what goes where, but that’s crazy talk.
@evan Mrs. Knight often complains how men's clothing, particularly the (basketball) shorts i wear when I'm not at work, have gigantic cavernous pockets, compared to women's casual clothing which often lacks any pockets at all.
She's forced to carry a bag while i can often fit everything and then some in my pockets.
The chinos/slacks/dockers i wear for work are different, but even then I'm guaranteed to always have pockets, where she must try very hard to find dresses/shorts with pockets
@NaClKnight I am a man who dresses masc, but I carry a shoulderbag so my pockets aren't full of keys, wallet, phone, headphones, and so on. It's nice to sit without a kg of uncomfortable junk poking me in the butt and groin, and walk around without it dragging my pants off.
@evan I wish it was multiple choice! As it isn't, I went for pockets because I always have key essentials in my pockets. If I need to carry more, it goes into a shoulder bag (short trips to the shops) or a backpack (longer journeys or heavier stuff).
