I am a cat person, and like to knit, so that's fun. I love to read, fantasy and mysteries. I also like bingeing TV series, science fiction (Star Trek) space western (Firefly) crime procedurals (Bones) British series like Dr. Who, Call the Midwife, (mysteries on BBC too)&Schitt's Creek

I need some new science fiction to read, who has some suggestions? I don't like military sci-fi. For reference, my favorite series is the Expanse, I also enjoyed Scalzi's Collapsing Empire, I love Robert Charles Wilson's books. I mostly enjoy space operas and unique stories about technology, for example I really liked the recent book Mountain in the Sea about AI and intelligent octopus. Suggestions from the awesome Bookstodon community? @bookstodon

I check out profiles on a post I'm intrigued by, from people who follow me, and sometimes I go down a rabbit hole of checking out boosted posters, from a profile I'm checking on, from a thread I looked into from a boosted post...it can go on for a while. And some friends post lists to check out! I always look before I follow. Single-minded and boring with it I won't follow. I seldom have to unfollow, and I've never had a problem with anyone that I had to block.

I have just spent an hour or so browsing Mastodon. I always leave here wanting to be better. I am inspired to be better in my job. To be a better person, help more people, inspire others to move toward their best selves. I love this feeling, so thank you, and keep up the good work, all. You are truly my people.

Pro tip: if your home is infested by a marching band, don’t harm them. Simply find the drum major and move it to a warm dry place in a different location; the rest will of their own volition move to its location in a matter of hours.
