@cliffwade That's the thing. First they thought is was a blood clot because she had just recently got some wisdom teeth pulled. Then thought it was cellulitis, then her dr sent her to ER of which she spent 9 hrs in waiting room to have them just say it looks like a black widow bite and to go to wound care (that was not even 30 mins).
Today at wound care is when they said it was a brown recluse. But, my grandma has been bitten by one so I've had a hunch.
@kylewritescode That's literally insane. I always thought that if you got bit by one that you would get very sick and could die from it within hours or a day or so. I assume that's not exactly true?
@cliffwade Yeah it was. I am perplexed why the ER didn't give her any shots or something. We had to wait a whole week for the wound care appt. All while that venom was eating away at her skin. I can send you some pics. :)
@cliffwade@kylewritescode No, you’re right that it causes symptoms beyond necrosis. I knew someone who was bitten and I had forgotten that he had been in the hospital with not only necrosis but also fever and nausea.
@kylewritescode@cliffwade Wait, I’m wrong about the symptoms of the bite, because I’m remembering now that a manager from a previous job got bitten by one and spent some time at the hospital dealing with intense pain, fever, and nausea.
