Savage and company in the video didn’t compare Apple Thunderbolt cable to another Thunderbolt cable, missed opportunity there to explain what if anything the brand brings in its “expression” of the specification. Left me wondering. On the USB-C cables seems there’s some cheap charging to be had below $10.

@daringfireball I’d really like someone to do something as simple as measure data throughput and charging with those variants that were CT scanned. And for godsakes label what they can actually do on the outside (one can only charge AND can be connected wrong where that might not even happen.

@daringfireball so interesting to see the quality difference in their cables, though. The usb c/magsafe cable with my MacBook Pro is lovely and has held up exceptionally well over the last 14 months I’ve had it. lightning cables, however, always felt of mediocre quality (particularly the USB A/Lightning ones imho)
