my natural reaction to a joke on social media is to continue the bit, but there are a lot of people who react with "this is a bit, let me explain the premise"
it's like they quit improv class after "yes" but before "and"
then there's the even worse kind, the "let me explain why the details you deliberately changed for the bit to work are wrong"
like "well, actually" was an improv technique
i have never been to improv class i don't know if that's how any of this works
