It runs a simplified/stripped-down form of the iPad app ecosystem, with a much less-capable input mechanism, and no physical connectivity. That ecosystem would have to get a /whole/ lot better before we can start to have that conversation, and the App Store environment stifles much of that potential.
Until we see a native Xcode and Terminal environment, I don't see this as being any more capable than an iPad.

Steve said a decade ago that not everybody needs a truck. The idea is that the Mac is the development platform. Build a watch app? Use a mac. Build a Vision pro app? Use a mac.
At which point will Apple ever replace or upgrade the truck? They used to eat their own babies (the iPod got killed by the iPhone). I don't see them doing the same for the Vision Pro and the Mac.
I don't see the truck ever evolving.
I think the web is the only entry point to build a new XR truck.
@khaost 1GB of storage and 16GB of RAM might do it, too. Though while it allows for dozens of windows, it doesn't have any window management, so opening more than a few windows is not gonna be a great user experience
