Presidents are just humans who want to lead other humans more often then other humans do :blobcatscience:
There is nothing "super human" about it, instead one could argue many often lie and cheat their way to the leadership position.. Not so sure that makes them more human :blobfoxsignno:
For me, it's about what someone does, not what position they have 🤷

But this is essentially why everything is screwed.
Anyone who wants to do it, wants the power and probably doesn't care about the responsibility.
Anyone who understands the responsibility, and would conduct themselves appropriately, would have to be mad to take on such a heavy task.
So leaders tend to be megalomaniacs, whilst those actually worth listening to tend to be followers, advisors etc who are often ignored.
@stux for many reasons (not necessarily good ones) in the US the president wields a huge amount of power, and often gets away with circumventing the few limits on their power when push comes to shove. For that reason I think it’s important that if this is the system we have, that we make very sure not to let scoundrels hold the reins of power.
