Someone inspired me to declare that the absolute character assassination that was the asshole DM's take on the whole Strahd and Tatyana backstory was in fact a play that was written at sword point (okay, fang point) to portray Strahd as flatteringly as possible.
"Oh no, it really wasn't your fault, she really did love you, and Sergei's death was an accident, of course." [barf]
Actually how funny would it be if Strahd himself actually wrote it under a pseudonym and it just gets critically savaged.
Like "Who the hell is this Shilliam Wakespeare because the melodrama is way over the top" "Whoever this playwright is he's clearly just trying to kiss Strahd's ass" etc.
And he's just sitting there with his eye twitching.
@action_jay yeah and it's pretty explicit that his version of events is heavily heavily biased. So even when he's telling the alleged truth he sants it to make him look good.
Now I really want to write a story where he's at the premiere of the play listening to everyone savage it and trying to figure out if he should kill everyone because it would also out him as the author.
