Hmmm … that is an interesting question. Perhaps it is a form of conspicuous consumption. It takes money and time to put on such a display. Or maybe some people do it simply to entertain everyone else. I know that sometimes it is cool to ride around at night at see the light shows on display. In some cases perhaps other people feel that they are announcing some religious convictions for everyone to see.
