I’m so curious what next generations will discover about today’s oldies and reinvigorate. What happens when gen Z discovers the majestic genius of 20th century American Jazz?
@profcarroll like other generations that have come of age in the streaming era, a number of gen Z folks have already found jazz, as well as the music and art forms of every other era. It's fascinating and very unique to each individual. The flattening of art history allows each person to trace a unique discovery path. I've talked to folks in that age range with relatively sophisticated early takes on jazz ("bebop seems a little overly intellectual" was one that struck me)
