Hi

I have been waiting for your answer for a week - but you still have not answered the important question about the confidentiality of Vivaldi accounts

I would like clarification from you on the following issues:

  1. what kind of pirated application under the mask (Web-internal) gained unauthorized access to my account WITHOUT my permission?

  2. why on the page https://social.vivaldi.net/oauth/authorized_applications you write: "you can revoke its access", but in reality on this page there is no real opportunity to remove access for previously authorized applications?

  3. how can I independently remove access to my account from previously authorized applications?

Thank you.

Hi @bekkoveno!

Sorry for the delay in our reply.

There's actually nothing suspicious going on.

Web Internal = Vivaldi Social website that you're viewing in the browser. It might not be an app as we're used to think of them, but the web interface still accesses the API the same way an app would and hence gets listed on the authorized apps page.

Access for Web Internal can't be revoked, but can be revoked for actual mobile and desktop apps.

If you suspect that someone has unauthorized access to your account, change the login password as soon as possible.

Hope this helps! :tony_normal:

bekkoveno,

@Vivaldi
Cheers!
Thank you for the detailed explanations.
I hope that I did not cause you any negative emotions due to the tone of my request.
If I did, please excuse me - because the continuous surveillance of citizens by state spies in my country leads to paranoia - but at the same time, the surveillance itself is determined only by the goal of maintaining the power of tyranny.
I will allow myself to campaign - let's you be more active and persistent in your demands on your governments to support Ukraine - because z-fascists can only be stopped by brute force (like any fascists).
Sincerely

unsignedinteger,

@Vivaldi What do you think about AES derivatives like Anubis, Kalyna and Grand Cru? They support up to 320 but, 512 bit and 128 bit key sizes respectively. Kalyna is the national standard for encryption in the ukraine, and Anubis and Grand Cru were submitted to the EU's nessie project. I was also wondering your position on Threefish encryption, which supports 1024 bit key sizes with 80 rounds?

@Vivaldi yo what about open sourcing your browser so we have no questions about the code that's being run on our machines, that'd be even more privacy conscious i think

@chirpbirb @Vivaldi you can view their source code, like explained here https://jon.vivaldi.net/a-few-words-about-open-source-vivaldi/

You can't fork it, that's why they don't claim to be open source, but the source code is available and auditable.
