1/29 - Did you write stories when you were a kid?

When I was a kid, I wrote a lot of fanfiction about Duke and Snake Eyes getting married, owning a cute German Shepard; On their days off from fighting COBRA they'd go to the park to play with their dog, cuddle and watch comedy or horror films after getting errands done.

I didn't know what gay was yet...However, a lot of my love related writing was centered around love between two men. ROFL

We stan Duke & Snake as puppy dads!

@caointeoireacht I agree that Duke and Snake would be the best of puppy dads for certain! I believe that with all my heart even now. :ablobcatheart:

tygerprints,

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds I wish you'd continue to write fanfiction of this sort. The world needs it.

@tygerprints Those were more OOC kind of fics; That isn't what the world needs in my opinion. I would write some original stuff along a similar vein, as it would feel more authentic!

tygerprints,

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds I'm sure they were but I still think the world does need this kind of fanfiction. As long as you continue to write, that's really the important thing. I don't personally see enough pro-human depictions of gay people (where they're not just stereotypes or overly emotionally suffering characters).

@tygerprints That's why I mentioned writing original fiction in the same vein (humanizing gay people vs painting them as emotionally wrought or walking stereotypes).

As this is something which truly is still lacking in the fiction space...Great mainstream representation of the LGBT+ community because the negative connotation with being someone other than cis-heterosexual is prevalent.

I'll be a good influence by writing original fiction!

tygerprints,

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds It still is prevalent, even among gay writers, the idea that being gay still has negative connotations (I couldn't even make it through the movie "Boys in the Band," for example). The idea that gays are really self-hating, bitchy queens.....that just isn't true, I'm sure there are some out there but it's the exception and not the rule.

I hope you can spin some original fiction that makes them more human and regular people (which is what we are).
