1 more reminder that bad reviews really do sell books: I was debating whether to get a copy of Philippa Gregory's history book Normal Women when I came across a furious review that excoriated it for including all women, not just cis women. I immediately one-clicked!
(This is 1 more reason why I'll never be an author who begs for only 5-star reviews. Quite often, detailed negative reviews that say WHY a reviewer hated a book sell it beautifully to the readers who are the actual target audience!)
