Sunday bliss: just-baked and still hot and-melty from the oven chocolate-chocolate-chip cookies with my second coffee of the day. Perfect. ❤️

(As usual, I used this favorite recipe: https://lovingitvegan.com/vegan-chocolate-cookies/
But I double the amount of non-dairy milk & also, after the 1st 9 minutes, take out the trays to give them each 2 sharp raps on the stovetop before baking for 1 more minute.)

On the train to Bath today, I finished reading Charlotte Stein's When Grumpy Met Sunshine, & it was BY FAR the funniest rom-com I’ve read in ages. I kept snort-laughing out loud! But then the ending was so, so sweet. I let out a happy good-book sigh at the end!

This is my regular, every-half-decade wail that for the renewal of child passports, the UK requires confirmation of ID from people with "serious, recognised professions" who have known the parents personally, not professionally, for years...and guess what? Writers & artists don't count. Waugh!

1 more reminder that bad reviews really do sell books: I was debating whether to get a copy of Philippa Gregory's history book Normal Women when I came across a furious review that excoriated it for including all women, not just cis women. I immediately one-clicked!

(This is 1 more reason why I'll never be an author who begs for only 5-star reviews. Quite often, detailed negative reviews that say WHY a reviewer hated a book sell it beautifully to the readers who are the actual target audience!)
