even freedos defrag in DOSBox won't work!

probably because it's trying to do low-level access and DOSBox isn't giving it that level of access.

@foone have you tried it under linux with defragfs? it supports fat12 so all you'd have to do is mount the floppy and it should work like any other filesystem.

@foone remind me to give you a copy of the cursed defragging tool I’m currently writing for you to test on floppy drives. In theory it should work as long as the floppy drive driver allows the FCSTL_MOVE_FILE IOCTL…

@Christopher nah. from the command line it seems like it does something, but from looking at the drive head, it does nothing
