@AlSweigart That's me to a tee. I definitely put them at 360 especially if I am mostly just listening. I only bump it up if they are showing something onscreen that I can't read.

Also, I've wondered if watching at 2x speed takes less bandwidth as well. Not sure why I think it would, it just seems like it should.

@AlSweigart I started downloading just the audio for a bunch of video essays recently. Turns out a bunch of channels that I watch work perfectly fine as podcasts too. Doing it less for environmental reasons than for being able to do housework at the same time though.

@AlSweigart there is https://listenbox.app/ which lets you do it for arbitrary youtube channels. but it's not free, unfortunately.

@AlSweigart I do that too mostly because of less-reliable internet. You get used to it.

@AlSweigart if text is shown and is readable at 720p , I will prefer that over 1080p+ as well. 360p is often not enough for me.
