@baldur I saw this comic yesterday & it's related.

I heard the term "futurewashing" recently to describe people who are using singular, superficial/short-sighted approaches to imagining future-state experiences. Tech people often can't (or are unwilling to) perceive layered, nuanced, or multidimensional impacts of technology. I suspect it's related to the toxic silicon valley culture, which is purely profit driven & motivated towards self-fulfilled prophecy - if they hype, the profit will come
