@stroughtonsmith What’s the implication? That they cancel the product? Or ship the same hardware and software forever? Or keep hardware the same, and just make software changes? Reducing price for the same hardware?
I’m a big fan of OS and hardware companies shipping good enough products and not changing them for a decade (security fixes & price reductions only). Let 3rd parties & users have some stability for once.
@stroughtonsmith I wasn’t convinced to buy an Apple Watch until the series 8, so yeah I’m much more interested in the long term prospects than I am by version 1.
@stroughtonsmith The problem is what if it’s a flying car? Lots of people putting bets on imminent iterations being significantly lighter and simpler to use. Hopefully parties talk of them being AR glasses within years. But the number of years is likely to disappoint unless some major and currently unknown tech rocks up.
@stroughtonsmith It’s still possible. I’m waiting for all the native apps to bloom and use-cases to start to feel necessary. Part of it is my own understanding of the device growing.
Immersed VR is coming out with a beta for AVP. I find that interesting as I use their app nearly daily in my quest pro and if it works fantastically on AVP it’d be a possible multi-monitor replacement.
