While I am sad to leave my cabin in the woods by the ocean, the landlord doesn’t want to rent anymore, and while he offered to sell it to us, it’s in such bad shape as to be unlendable. (Old wiring, old plumbing, old deck, old everything)
So we have to move, but we found a house in the mountains, only an hour from the coast with a forest! These pines and redwoods aren’t as old as the ones by the cabin, they’re all less than 100 yrs old, but it’s still lovely! And there’s a creek in the back yard
it’s going to be a hell of a commute to my housecleaning job until I can find something that pays as well, but it feels really good to finally have my own place. We’ll be moving in gradually, as I already paid this month’s rent and paid last month’s when I moved into the old cabin back when. I’ve lived in that funky old cabin for 18 yrs, so I have a lot of accumulated clutter to get rid of.
