I gripe about New Mexico and trying to get anything done, but credit where credit is due. Maggie Toulouse-Oliver, our Secretary of State, has done an incredible job fortifying and modernizing our voter registration and voting systems. I was able to change my voter registration online in 5 minutes. Securely. Big fan.

I’m clearly going to need to get a hutch for the kitchen. Looking online, I saw some nice ones from Wayfare, but I’ll be damned if I’ll spend one penny on something from a business that provided bunk beds to the detention centers that the Trump administration put the stolen immigrant children in. So I’ll keep on looking. Suggestions for something under $500 with drawers, a shelf and cupboards welcome.

Went out front with our measuring tape and decided we will build a shipping container shop to one side in the front of the house. The house really isn't anything special curb appeal-wise, but a shop would add tremendous value. We have tools. A lot of fucking tools. :)

Check out what I just found. Consignment furniture online. I have not purchased anything from these folks, so I have no more information than is on the website, but based on some fediverse conversations I have had recently, I am not the only person looking for quality furniture that doesn't require handing over your firstborn.

@Catawu @ai6yr I actually had to yell at some dumbasses in the village on the mountain. They let what looked to be a 3 year old child approach a full grown mature bull elk. These things are, at minimum, about 700- 1000 pounds of lean, deadly muscle.

I yelled, the bull ran off, and I let the parents have it.

These are WILD ANIMALS. Not at a zoo.
