In 2009, the NHS bought thousands of expensive hardware-encrypted USB drives, "SafeSticks", from a company called BlockMaster.

How surprised would you be to hear that the BlockMaster website and Twitter account look like they were all but abandoned in 2011?

Ah, and the promised Linux version of the OS-side software needed to decrypt the drives never materialised, from what i can tell.

I wonder how many of the 250 000 drives the NHS bought are still in use.
