”Did you watch this as a kid?! It looks terrible and the song is also REALLY bad!”
@artcollisions It was fun rewatching them, especially the second and third films hold up surprisingly well. Didn’t remember the jump in quality, but now it is fairly obvious. Lucas’ silly extra additions stand out sorely in the first one.
@artcollisions It is kind of fun, because it is like very much in the genre of ”silly light-hearted cowboy action adventure”. The crude advances of Han Solo on Leia feel almost like satire. When Leia’s home planet is destroyed she is like ”Oh NO!, Well anyways,”. The later films are much closer in tone to comparable contemporary films, with stuff like shots of Ewoks mourning fallen comrades.
