@thomastospace same for me, the local timeline of phpc.social is a very good resource for php and web developers. I often have a look to it.
That's why the number of followers rise matter so much on the Fediverse 😊
@adele I like the idea 💡 of using them instead of things like fontawesome to make websites more lightweight. Sometimes icons can really add to readability.
Of course, with an aria-hidden around it, so the screenreader doesn't read a 'raised back of hand' 🤚
@adele Yeah. It's still a hard subject. I think it comes down to supporting old browsers and devices, because they won't support emojis, and not all emojis are supported everywhere.
The fallback also isn't graceful at all. It's just seeing a square ( □ ). Older browsers are less common luckily now, most users are on auto-updating browsers.
