If I was the Australian Government I would simply abrogate myself of any responsibility for media regulation of any kind and repeatedly de-fund every public broadcaster I could get my hands on. Then I would complain when the private sector decided it was not profitable to provide news to my citizens! Truly this is a project that I, a collection of the smartest idealogues alive and an exclusive group of Society's Betters, would embark upon.
