Chess grandpa called us to play some chess this evening, and he also wanted us to read some of his favorite poet, so he also HAND WROTE FROM MEMORY about two pages from a poem that he likes and brought it along 😲💖🥰
Oh yeah, also last night Chess Grandpa asked me about my religious beliefs, I said I was an atheist, and he told me off...not for being an atheist, but for using the wrong word for "atheist". Which is the kind of completely ridiculous pedantry that I can appreciate 🤣🤣🤣
(I said "atéia" instead of "ateu" because I'm a woman, but according to a more prescriptivist view of Portuguese grammar "ateu" should be for both genders because of Greek etymology and etc etc but I don't speak Greek so 🤷♀️)
@sofiav Since moving to Brazil I have become officially agnostic. Not because I changed my mind but because I never heard an evangelical pastor saying agnostics should be killed (yet).
@santiago ugh...in my experience people have been generally okay with me just saying I'm an atheist, but that kind of thing definitely makes me nervous. (Chess Grandpa is agnostic and likes hearing about different views. He's awesome!)
