@raccoon oh, i have lots of friends that would be willing to let me borrow their domains... i just need to find one with the shortest one (probably @gintoxicating with https://fr.wtf)
@ChloeCat@raccoon just the template is that old (~1996), it was from a startup i ran. I pulled the html from internet archive because my backup is on 5 1/4 floppies and idk how to read those anymore
one nice thing with all the billion new domain extensions is it’s easier to find short ones (and wtf, lol, ing are all reasonably priced)
fr.wtf was more expensive since it’s short , i think i pay $60 a year instead of like $15 but i fell in love and also have a domain collecting problem
@raccoon be careful, running a url shortener can be a huge pain once abusers find your service for spam/etc, i ran one for 6 years and had to shut it down (and I was putting in good faith effort). Maybe one tied to a fedi account could do a good job preventing most of the problem tho
