Between what others reflexively called Mr. Whiskers and what I called Mr. Whiskers, Mr. Whiskers ended up with a 17 syllable hyphenated name.

Which defaulted to the 3 syllable segment that reflexively was always the first word out of my mouth on seeing Mr. Whiskers. Same for others with their differing reflexive response.

She was never called Mr. Whiskers by anyone however, including myself.
