Why does the peak of our #civilization resemble prison so much?
@mgorny most of the media we consume is fear mongering so it's little surprise that people are afraid of everything. We live in the safest time ever to be a human, but everyone is afraid.
@mgorny I've been thinking about something similar. That the combination of individualism and capitalism have given us the perception that material things should be owned privately before they can be used.
I do hope this can be patched out, rather than being something fundamental because I do like the choice between individual freedom and collective ownership. Perhaps I should be looking into the idea of the Commons a bit more.
