@jackonskates I could smell the rain before it began to fall so luckily got my laundry and blankets in. just hope it lets up soon so I can put it back outside to dry 🤪

tsuyu should be the dust jacket of one of those "the japanese art of nani~nani" nonsense…but about learning to live with unpredictability and being told you're wrong in the face of the obvious. 😅
I'm from the desert. To me, this Japan is always wet. Sometimes hot wet, sometimes cold wet, sometimes soft wet, sometimes hard wet, but always, always, always wet.
@jezebelkat@sfpodge@scoutie@jackonskates i bought a washer / dryer on recommendation from some fine folks here, and have never looked back…it was crazy expensive, not gonna lie, but it's so eco that my power bill barely changed, and the amount of time i save hanging and pulling down laundry (& also trekking to the laundromat) is truly MASSIVE 👍🏼
my laundry pole is now for hanging plants in my garden, and some cute flags & fairy lights ✨ 😅
I don’t have a dryer, but feel like I’d still hang up some stuff….whenever I come back from a trip to the US I feel like the drier shrinks and degrades lots of stuff. I guess I could plan to account for shrinkage but still feels rough on cloths. But would be awesome for towels and sheets and stuff.
@FlockOfCats@scoutie@jezebelkat@jackonskates the combo washer/dryer friends recommended to us is persnickety. washing works fine. drying cycle sometimes takes an hour, sometimes 4 hours. and the clothes are sometimes dampish.
