One reason I'm skeptical of artificial intelligence is that we don't even understand human intelligence yet, and we've been working on that for hundreds of years. We barely even know how our own brains work -- and by "we" I mean brain scientists, not just regular people. How are we supposed to figure out whether a machine is intelligent?

@mathewi Would a verbatim transcript of a speech by Donald Trump pass the Turing test? I don't think so but millions of Americans think he's intelligent.

In this country (Ireland) he's regarded as a moron (as well as a crook, aspiring dictator and a vulgar amoral lowlife).
