I’m sorry, if you seriously believe that Germany’s present #coal investments wouldn’t have happened if the country hadn’t shut down its remaining #nuclear power plants, that’s just incredibly naive.
Conflating the issues of nuclear power and coal and framing things as if these are the only two options benefits only those who benefit from either (or both) of them.
Both need to go. And one being successfully ended now after literally two whole generations of activism is absolutely a success and doesn’t hinder the fight against the other.

@esther Activists fighting against nuclear energy aren't fellow comrades though. Nor are activists fighting against offshore wind farms. Nuclear energy isn't a major contributor to global climate change, and is in fact an alternative source of energy to those forms of energy that do contribute to climate change.
@Esther Thank you. Also ecological & human destruction from uranium mining, but the humans harmed by mining & waste storage are largely Indigenous, so (apparently) overlooked by settlers. Oil & gas industry insider Tom Flanagan said in the early 2000s that [settler] environmentalists joining with Indigenous people would be "an apocalyptic scenario" for oil & gas (quoted in recent book The End Of This World). But my fellow settlers need to de-center themselves to do that. #CliimateJustice
