Me: this is how SMTP and DMARC work, I read the fucken RFC standards, and they're sending shit that's not compliant.

Them: they want an allow listing

Me: so suddenly their fuck up becomes our security flaw? Fuck off, no.

Them: also we think we should stop abiding by their DMARC policy

Me: why do they set their fucken DMARC policy if it's broken? No. Tell them we don't accept junk bullshit email, and to fix their bin fire.

@Taco_lad oh man.

I gave a terrible talk once on the horrors of MIME, its billions of standards, and how so many Big Names violate the standards that you can't rely on them directly. I'd imagine that when you step into actual protocol space from that standpoint, the carnival of horrors grows exponentially.
