I kind of dont feel the urge to do a big coming out with my family about being bi (the "sit down mom, we have to talk" kind), I've decided some time ago that I'm just gonna stop censoring myself and just live free
@endali this is basically what I'm doing. My family basically never had the nerve to be open and honest about things in their life, I don't see why I should do them that kind of favor when the only positive thing they can offer me is "permission" to live my life. I openly came out to my friends, the kind of family that I know will actually support me. The rest can figure it out themselves - or not. I don't care.
@endali This is mostly my approach at work: I don't come out, some people infer it from pride flags in the webcam background (before my current desk rotation) or me talking about BL. (While a coworker asked if I'm a furry after I spoke about wolves in furry VNs.)
With family, one person knows while supporters of a homophobic organization needing another CW don't deserve coming out to them. They could guess why I have BL and anime calendars.

@endali The first one I told was my brother, then my parents. It took me quite some time to figure that part of me out, and then it quickly became an important part of my life. I wanted to tell someone, and they were the ones I trusted the most. I wanted them to know what occupied my mind lately, so I told them. It wasn't due to some imagined obligation or anything, I just wanted to.
I didn't really come out to most of the people around me, but it was important to me for my family to know.
