@BlackAzizAnansi yeah, but you'd have to have a cause of action to sue the police. Generally suits against police involve 42 USC §1983 which allows you to sue cops for a violation of a constitutional right (if memory serves, it's been more than a decade since I practiced law). Otherwise most cop behavior/action is protected by "qualified immunity" against civil suits.
