@RL_Dane I think they have and I'm not a fan. I have no issues with Snaps but to remove the ability to install .deb packages is just ridiculous. This is why I've been a Debian guy for so long.
Agreed. I was skeptical of the decision to include non-free drivers by default, but it made Debian 12 really awesome to use. I've got it on all my x86-based machines except for one #OpenBSD box. :)
@RL_Dane@cmccullough yes OpenBSD has best source code quality, but it is limited by filesystem features, or conteinerisation, also virtualisation, but i also like it best of BSD .
check OmniOS it is really features rich unix based on illumos
@RL_Dane@cmccullough i would recommend it only as server:) i can imagine illumos based server for small to mid sized companies, thanks to support of almost all opensource virtualisation technologies, imagine it is unix with KVM bhyve conteinerization and it has many other security features
