A couple of decades ago I got a scrolling LED sign (from Maplin I think but it's not a N00GA or Amplus AM03127 variant). Lost the remote a while back.
Investigation inside: it has a RJ11 serial port on the back. No board markings except for "SHL-ALLCPU". It's 8049-based with a 27128 EPROM (which I haven't disassembled yet). The board doesn't look like a N00GA one. @pndc you had one too I think?
Anyone got any clues how to drive this thing? It seems from email archive I managed it in 2001..
