@mikemathia By statistics this is actually a very poor life lesson. The probability of the ocean killing you far exceeds the the probability of the island doing so before you attract the attention of a passing ship.

It’s also a deeply conservative life lesson. It presupposes a dog-eat-dog world where trust in the kindness of strangers is a mistake.

”Nobody is coming” is something I’d never teach my kid. It’s something people like Andrew Tate say.

Not mentioning satellites either.
