@wjmaggos what is she grifting?

@takash

she has a book but my point is she is specifically trying to appeal to the MAGA crowd. She wants to be a personality in that world. She endorsed Biden but now says he must lose. She used to say things that would upset both sides but in this interview, she said nothing that would upset them. You could feel her grasping to find ways to sound like one of them.

@wjmaggos I actually ordered the book - I’ll let you know if there’s anything egregiously MAGA in it

imagine a four time elected Republican congressman leaving the Republican party and now saying they are rotten to the core. writing a book titled "For Love of Country: Leave the Republican Party Behind". not that it needs to be fixed and more conservative like lots of MAGA says (and she said about Dems before). but you shouldn't vote for any of them ever again. the woke left would love them. they'd get to go on all the shows. maybe get a spot in the next Dem administration.

@wjmaggos they can just remain Republicans and bad-mouth Trump to get on the shows. I understand what you’re saying though.

Tulsi has a history of going against the Democrat establishment by endorsing Bernie over Hillary in 2016, so I’m more willing to hear what she has to say.

@takash

Tulsi got on FoxNews etc before too, but as I said above, she then endorsed Biden. I am all for people going on different shows (obviously) and having an honest discussion of the issues and policy. But an honest discussion also means bringing up stuff they don't want to talk about, not just what you agree with them about. And voting in our duopoly is always a compromise. Somebody will win. And candidates may differ from their party. She's not as interesting as she was for this reason.

@takash

the no votes on the "don't say bad things about Israel" bill in the House are interesting. if we care about free speech. MAGA folks but also progressive Dems. more Dems than Republicans.
