@Pawpower Have you tried Android? If it doesn't work for you, why not? I'd genuinely love to know as someone who doesn't primarily rely on braille but just enjoys reading.
@fireborn I have not, mostly because all of my subscriptions and apps and shit are on iPhone and the Apple ecosystem, and also because I honestly don't know where to start and I hear all kinds of conflicting rumors about how well braille works or does not work and I have an HID display and as far as I know, the only way that those can connect are with USB and I don't want to have to haul around the USB cord Wherever I go!
@fireborn It might, but it is a lot more annoying, and as someone who uses the display, while walking, at bus stops, while on public transportation, or in a car, having a cord is incredibly impractical
@TheQuinbox Because Apple ah a stranglehold on the disabled community. The sooner Android covers my needs with a decent wearable etc, I'm off the Apple train. Better yet, the linux phone.
@TheQuinbox@fireborn Probably you missed that thread, Quin. that all started after I read a review of Samsung Galaxy A55 made by a blind person. There they state that it's all OK but to answer a WhatsApp call, you need to find a tiny little window at the top of the screen. I was like eight years on Android only, and my most awful stress point was to answer a call because there is no single and unique way to do it for all messengers. On iPhone the magic tap just works everywhere: usual phone, WhatsApp, Telegram, Skype, Teams, whatever else. for me it's super important.
