A new documentary has recreated the face of a 75,000-year-old female Neanderthal whose flattened skull was discovered in Iraqi Kurdistan and rebuilt from hundreds of bone fragments by a team of archaeologists and conservators led by the University of Cambridge. https://www.cam.ac.uk/stories/shanidar-z-face-revealed

@TiciaVerveer Sorry, no. Two Dutch brothers, working for a team of archaeologists, have reconstructed the face of our ancestor. The documentary is just a means to show it to us. But yes, people should look at the documentary on Netflix and see her face and learn more about these 'other' humans.

@HeyLaiverd it was a team effort but Dr Lucía López-Polín pieced over 200 bits of skull together to return it to its original shape.
