Does the so-called Dutch keyboard layout even exist? I always have to switch to US-international

ISO has -interesting- ideas about where special characters should be though.

@JoSuus Yeah, it takes some time getting used to but in the end it's all about muscle memory.

I preferred the ANSI layout myself until I switched to something very different.

Also, you might want to look at US international, with altgr deadkeys, it's essentially the same as US-int, but the deadkeys only activate when you hold AltGr. Which made my life a lot better as I loathe the deadkeys while programming.

@ainmosni I have deadkeys on and never considered switching. I'm gonna try that though.

@JoSuus Finding that layout heavily improved my life. I loathed deadkeys, as I type accents less than plain symbols.
